Founded in October 2012, Pangaea Agrochemicals is based in Norwich and Cambridge. Pangaea puts its strong scientific and business strategy skills into the development of innovative agricultural solutions from the groundbreaking academic research.
Currently under development is a portfolio of crop-protection products based on existing active ingredients in combination with patented technology that overcomes pesticide resistance.
Ongoing research projects focus on weed, insect, fungus and vector control and have received extensive funding from UK and EU grant schemes, such as:
- £350,000 from UK Technology Strategy Board
- £60,000 from East of England Agritech Strategy fund
- Part of €1,000,000 collaborative European grant funding
- £98,000 from Innovate UK
As a specialist product development company, Pangaea does not have full-scale production facilities or a global marketing and distribution arm. Instead, Pangaea sub-licences the technologies that it develops to the leading players in the markets in which it operates.
